Volunteering

"Volunteer activities can foster enormous leadership skills.  The non-professional volunteer world is a laboratory for self-realization."  Mae West

PLEASE NOTE:  UNDER ALBERTA SOCCER ASSOCIATION REGULATIONS, ALL COACHES MUST PROVIDE A CURRENT CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK.  PLEASE CONTACT REGISTRAR FOR DETAILS.

Ponoka Minor Soccer Association is always in need of volunteers during the busy season.

Each House League team needs a couple of people to coach a team, and  another to act as "Parent Captain".  Basically the Parent Captain is in charge of communication - game cancellations, special events, updates regarding changes in schedules or field locations, and half-time snack scheduling.  Each spring, prior to the commencement of the outdoor season, coaching clinics are offered free of charge to anyone who has volunteered to coach.   Coaching is a rewarding experience all around - you make a team full of young friends and the kids learn a bit more about the game of soccer and how to be a team player.  You don't need to be a former player to be a Coach!  Bring your enthusiasm and we'll help you along with the rest!  Manuals are provided, and there is on-line support available from the  website of Central Alberta Soccer Association's Technical Director.
