The West field is level and ready to go.  The East field will be worked over the next two weeks.

Due to the amount of prep time that has been required and the timeline Blue Grass Sod Farm has, we have decided to forgo sodding the pitches until the third week of August.  The prime growing seasons for sod once you lay it is May to the second week of June and then late August until October.  We have simply missed our Spring window.  This may be a little disappointing to some of you, but realistically we did not plan to play on these pitches this season anyway.  Talking with Town of Ponoka department heads,  we felt the cost of watering over July would be too much.  Considering the investment we are making, the last thing we want is to burn up our grass under a hot sun.  Blue Grass sod farm agreed wholeheartedly.  Their thought is that the area is simply too big to afford the kind of watering that this will require in July.
